POLISHING ALUMINUM
Here is the progress I've made so far using a wonderful product from Vintage Trailer Supply called Nuvite polishing compound.
Can't imagine what someone would charge to do it. I also found a nifty trick.
If you use Never Dull wadding polish ($4.87 )first and get the majority of the black off, then use your nuvite, you can get by alot cheaper with the same result.
Here is the link I used, free ship too! http://www.amazon.com/Eagle-One-1035605-Nevr-Dull-Wadding/dp/B000CNBI1A/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1375412956&sr=8-12&keywords=aluminum+polish

RECYCLED BOWL SINK
I am in need of a cute sink in my 1963 Shasta Camper. For glamping , I feel the
pressure of steppng it up to keep up with all the adorable little campers these
girls are putting together. Here is what I came up with. A repurposed/ recycled
bowl I had from a previous pitcher and bowl stand.
I ordered a diamond
bit drill blade from Amazon, as they were much cheaper than our local hardware
store.
The drain thingy I
got from ebay...
And here it is all
drilled and done...Note : you must spray water on the drill bit as it is cutting
in order to keep the ceramic or glass you are cutting cool and avoid
breakage.
Here is the Lavabo
that will hang on the wall for the water faucet.

VINTAGE SHASTA RECYCLED WINDOW
My 1963 Shasta was missing one of her side windows due to the previous owner having a window air conditioner in it. I have been looking high and low for a replacement to no avail ....yet. This afternoon I dug through all my miscellaneous boxes and came up with this for now. I have to admit... kinda love it!
It's made with a scrap piece of wood that I painted silver, then attached a mirror and a floor grate to it.

You could stain and varnish at this point. I wanted a french decor, so I whitewashed it with some watered down paint and a broom. Then it was sealed really good with a clear satin exterior sealer.

DINETTE CUSHION
Today I started laying out the fabric for my dinette cushions.
I'm trying to get leopard print and pink roses to jive with the Parisian chic fashion.
I cut the 6 inch thick foam with a electric knife, and let me tell you it cut like butter!!!
This is as far as I got before I remembered I forgot to get zippers!!!
I need the good metal ones, so I had to order them from Ebay. Just another bump in the road ..uugghhh.

BOONDOCKING IN THE USA
I found this great website, thought I would share....
http://www.boondockerswelcome.com/content/about-boondockers-welcome
On this web site you can contact people from all corners of the world who love RVing, boondocking, and traveling on a budget.
In North America in particular, many of us seek out Walmart stores, truck stops, and casinos for free overnight parking on route to our destinations. While we will likely continue to use these businesses, what would it be like to be welcomed by thousands of fellow RVers to spend the night parked on their private property instead?

FLEXIBLE AWNING RAIL
This is the awning rail I decided to go with.It is marine grade flexible pvc.
.
http://www.csctextiles.com/jef_04awn-01.htm
I will be sewing a 5/16" diameter marine grade cord thru a hem on one side of my awning, then feed it thru the channel.
I still need to get:
* Adjustable tent poles
* Heavy Duty tent stakes
* Tie-Down lines
* Tension adjusters for lines
* Medium weight spring for each tie-down line
* Small pulley for each tie-down line
* Metal Washer for each tie down line instead of a knot
* Awning rail pulley

CUSHION AND CROWN MOLDING FOAM
Well after two days scouring the internet, I think I finally found my foam . I won't order until the Shasta is in the driveway, because I really don't want to screw up measurements. The great thing about this company is free shipping. I love that!!!
Also I found the cutest foam crown molding from this site. Because it's foam it bends any way you want, and is lightweight. All you do is glue it up and paint. I'm thinking because of the canned ham roundness, it is gonna be sooo cute.
Here is the link ...check it out.
